Renovation of penstocks at the Tarragona WWTP

The first phase of the project involves modifying the non-rising design of three penstocks to a rising design. Additionally, the actuator is equipped with an integrated control unit and telematic control via Modbus TCP/IP.

The project also includes the complete overhaul of three other penstocks. The new penstocks, manufactured by Coutex Sorigué, feature a bi-directional sealing design.

This design prevents water from passing in either direction once the penstock is closed, which is particularly useful when the canal needs to be emptied on one side for maintenance work.

Additionally, the existing electrical installation was extended and adapted to provide real-time information on the status and position of the penstocks, allowing for remote operation.
