Revolving chain screens are suitable for high flow rates with significant level variations.

This filter is based on the revolving drum design. Filtration or sieving is performed through filter panels and requires pressurised water for cleaning. Coutex Sorigué can design the equipment to screen in either direction: from the outside to the inside or from the inside to the outside.

Components

The main parts of the revolving chain screens include: drive system, frame, filter panels and panel washing system.

Thickness

Their filter meshes vary from 0.25 mm to 10 mm. This equipment is suitable for water that is not excessively loaded with waste.

Drive system

The geared motor unit transmits torque to the equipment through direct transmission or via chains and sprockets attached to the filter drive wheels. The closed chains, on which the panels are installed, are arranged on the traction wheels. The entire drive system is mounted on a base plate anchored to the civil works and is covered by a casing that provides access for maintenance.

Frame

Constructed from steel or stainless steel profiles anchored to the civil works. The side profiles serve as guides for the main chains that pull the panels.

Filter panels

Constructed from steel or stainless steel profiles to which the filtering fabric or mesh is attached. The panels are connected to the drag chain conveyor in a hinged arrangement. Special profile rubber seals ensure a watertight seal between the panels.
 

Panel washing

Pressurised water, driven by flat jet nozzles located at the top of the equipment, is used for cleaning. The water can be sourced from an existing water network within the installation or from a pump that uses filtered water. Waste is collected in a chute when cleaning from the inside to the outside, or in hoppers installed inside the equipment when cleaning from the outside to the inside.
